Research at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (TASMC) is translational, bridging the gap between basic scientists and clinicians, challenging results found in cells or animal models into clinical trials, leading to the introduction of novel technologies into clinical practice. Research at TASMC touches every field of medicine in every one of the Center's divisions and departments, at all stages of research, be it laboratory, pre- clinical, phase I (first in humans) and phases II-IV.
The physicians and scientists at the Medical Center (over 1000, of which 60% have senior academic appointments at the Tel Aviv University) are highly trained in numerous specialties. The clinical departments are affiliated to the Sackler faculty of Medicine at Tel-Aviv University, and participate actively in teaching medical students
TASMC management has made a commitment to raising the level of medical research, together with excellent medical care, encouraging its physicians to devote time to research during and after their medical training.
