Main description
The Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center is one of the largest and busiest hospitals in
Israel.
The Medical Center's annual budget, which is provided by the state, allows for routine operation only. The development programs of the hospital are completely dependent on the generosity of friends and supporters. Modern medicine, new medical equipment and a safe infrastructure can only be accomplished with the support of friends.

The Association of Friends of the Medical Center plays a vital role in providing resources to materialize the hospital's new projects, which in recent years includes:

• Construction of the Ted Arison Medical Tower including the project of developing the hospital’s western façade and entrance lobby of the Ted Arison Medical Tower thanks to the continued support and the generous donations of the Ted Arison Family Foundation headed by Mrs. Shari Arison.
• "Lis" Maternity Hospital.
• New departments of Emergency Medicine & Trauma Center.
• Wohl Institute for Advanced Imaging (MRI) and establishing the Brain Research Laboratory (FMRI).
• Expansion of the Nephrology & Dialysis thanks to the generous donation of The Irving I. Moskowitz Foundation.
• Upgrading the "Dana" Children  Hospital thanks to the generous donation of Maurice & Solo Dwek.
• Building a new Radiation Institute with New linear accelerators for most advanced oncology treatments thanks to the support of the Wolfson Family Charitable Trust.
• Renovating Internal Medicine Wards and moving them out of the old hospital building thanks to the support of The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany that take care for the holocaust survivors population.

Likewise, the Association aids in the purchasing of much needed new, modern equipment such as:

• Purchasing an advanced Catherization System for our Cardiology Ward thanks to the generosity of Mr. Joseph Buchmann, a consistent donor of our medical center.
• Navigator System for neurosurgeries
• New endoscopic equipment,
• Isotopic scanning equipment for nuclear medicine,
• CT Pet – Cell mapping system
• Pacs – Picture Archive Communication System
• Purchasing vital and advanced equipment for Trauma Theater Suite thanks to the support of the Dubrofsky Family from Canada.
• Advanced technology equipment for the Department of internal medicine, Intensive Care Unit, and Operating Rooms.
• Equipment for treating epilepsy, and much more…

The numerous and important needs can be actualized only with the assistance of the association and donations. Expanding the circle of friends of our Medical Center, both in Israel and overseas, will bring all of us forward in the actualization of our goals to improve the conditions of hospitalization and to make them compatible with standards of the current century.
