Main description The Psychiatric Service at the Tel Aviv Medical Center offers a variety of interventions including diagnosis, consultation liaison, and treatment of illnesses, disorders and integrated mental health problems including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, psychosomatic disorders, post traumatic disorders (both psychological and sequelae of brain injury), psychotic illnesses, effects of sexual abuse, problems with maternal-infant bonding and many others.
The multidisciplinary staff comprised of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, occupation therapists and other specialists provides the treatments of this department. The treatments are varied and include biological treatments (medications, biofeedback, electroconvulsive therapy,) psychotherapeutic treatments (crisis counseling and intervention, dynamic psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy, hypnosis, supportive treatment, etc.) Treatments are offered for individuals, couples, families and groups and are provided both in the outpatient clinic and in the day-care psychiatric department. Additional services include psychiatric and psychological second opinion consultation for legal, rehabilitation and disability evaluations. |
